Our Dental Therapist
Mingma Sherpa is a Dental Therapist, internationally trained Dentist, educator, and humanitarian with over 33 years of experience in clinical practice, dental education, and community oral health. His career spans Canada, Nepal, and the South Pacific, where he has dedicated himself to improving access to quality oral health care and mentoring future dental professionals.
He earned a Diploma in Dental Therapy from the National School of Dental Therapy in Saskatchewan and a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of the South Pacific, Fiji. Mingma has served as faculty at Saskatchewan Polytechnic and the University of Saskatchewan, teaching oral surgery for Dental Therapy and clinical supervisor and clinical operator for dental Assistant program 2022-2026.
A passionate advocate for underserved communities, Mingma founded Smile High Dental Charity in Nepal in 2009, providing free dental care and oral health education to remote mountain communities. He has also led community oral health programs and supervised dental therapy services for Indigenous communities in northern Saskatchewan.
Mingma is especially passionate about working with children, believing that positive early dental experiences can shape a lifetime of healthy smiles. He enjoys spending time with children, helping them feel comfortable and confident during dental visits, and inspiring healthy oral hygiene habits through education and compassionate care.
Known for his compassionate leadership, commitment to education, and dedication to community service, Mingma Sherpa continues to make a lasting impact through clinical excellence, humanitarian outreach, and the advancement of oral health care.
